| A great web site and a superb project to undertake. Definately needs 12 cylinders and a turbo, possibly. There is nothing like working in wood, and you don't hear of many criticisms about the Mosquito, except for their age. Good luck! I hope it flies well. Web Master added these comments on 2008-06-30 at 15:39:21: Edward, Yep, 12 cylinders and a supercharger! On Mosquito's - you may want to contact Glyn Powell on Mosquito restorations in New Zealand at mosquito@ihug.co.nz. I also hope it flys well, since I will be the test pilot. |

| Russ, you continue to amaze me, both by your persistence in completing this great undertaking and by the quality and beauty of your workmanship. It is a good thing for an "office boy" like me sitting behind a computer screen all day to be able to let his thoughts wander "skyward" every once in a while.
Many thanks for living your dream like this and letting others take part in it,
Ernst

| G'day!
I have been a spitfire fan most of my life and have been working on a fictional manuscript based on the 13 Americans who flew in the B.O.B. for a few years now. The dream of my life has always been to actually fly one of these amazing warbirds. While I realize that this will, in all likelihood, remain a cherished dream your project has helped me to keep my dream alive and who knows what the future can bring? Regardless I can still get a "warm fuzzy" knowing others will have this opportunity and the history of the spitfire will not have to be regulated to a precious few who can afford the ever dwindling originals. I will keep a close watch on your project and while I my not be able to be there physically, I will be there in spirit to cheer you on.
Sincerely,
L. Wickham |

| Hi guys! This is a dream come true. I find it wonderful, that there is a real possibility to have and fly a full size Spitfire. I'm hoping to join the community of builders soon and in the meantime I'm looking forward to seeing new construction pics. Cheers! Web Master added these comments on 2008-05-16 at 08:42:35: Peter, we look forward to you joining the group some day soon and pix of the wing attach fittings soon to follow. |

| Please excuse my dumb e mail of a few minutes ago, I have now actually read your entire site and all the answers were there all the time! Sorry. Very very impressive piece of engineering that I would like to get to know more about. I will follow progress of the prototype with huge interest. If it flies well I am certainly interested and will speak to a few folk here in the UK with a view to getting a group together. Has to be better than a Mk 26. |

| G'day Russ, the spit looks amazing. I've always wanted to own and fly one. What is included in the plans? Is there anyone building one in Australia? If the builder has trouble during the construction can he get some advice? Web Master added these comments on 2008-05-03 at 18:03:29: Plans are complete up to the engine and main undercarriage installation(coming soon). Plans are still at a reduced cost and include all updates, corrections and additions to the flight of the prototype. Two builders in Australia and yes, I am available any time via email for help, advice, parts locating, etc. It looks like we should have three builders in Australia soon ! |

| I happened on your site by chance and thought you might be able to help me. We are visiting my cousins in Farnham for a week beginning 28th May and I wondered if there are any Spits in the vicinity or even as far as Duxford where I might be able arrange a flight in one. I flew jet fighters during the Korean War and the Spit was my favorite aircraft in WWII and I have always wanted a flight in one. Any thoughts or suggeswtions? Web Master added these comments on 2008-05-03 at 18:08:30: You may try the Spitfire Society at PO Box 202, Biggin Hill, Westerham, TN16, 9DA ph 023 80227343. |

| All power to you for a stunning project! I have no knowledge about what hoops you have to jump through to a) ensure structural integrity of the design b) get certification for the finished aircraft. I am sure you wouldn't be building without having answered these questions for yourself. Can you put me in touch with UK builders / interested parties? I have experience of building composite sandwich structures in boats. Web Master added these comments on 2008-04-08 at 10:54:52: Structural analysis was done by a well known Aerospace Engineering Company. I have already sent a list of builders for you to get comments from and with your experience when do you start building a SAC Spitfire? Russ |
